Kaipara Coast Sculpture Exhibtion - Sleeping Holi Hine
Sleeping Holi Hine is now situated in the magical Sculpture Gardens on the Kaipara Coast. I actually grew up not far from here and my best friend used to live within walking distance. It feels like I've done full circle, I have not been out this way for years.
If you are wanting a beautiful day out to take friends or family, feel and absorb nature this is the perfect place, the sculpture garden covers about 1km filled with all sorts of wonderful surprises. Seats are scattered throughout the walkway so you can take your time and enjoy the scenery.
All these pieces are for sale, and part of my proceeds will go to Women's Refuge NZ. If you are interested in purchasing Sleeping Holi Hine, please get in touch.
Here are just a few of the works on show:
Welcome to Kaipara Coast Sculpture Gardens
Kaipara Coast Sculpture Gardens is a unique sculpture trail set in a tranquil, rural, garden oasis, and is a fun, inspiring, contemporary art and garden experience for all ages.
Planting in the gardens started in 1994, and the Sculpture Trail was opened in 2008.
Against the backdrop of the Kaipara harbour, the trail winds through a secluded valley containing a slice of almost every type of iconic New Zealand landscape: mown lawns, fruit tree orchard, grassy slopes, regenerating bush, old farm fences, pine forest, vegetable beds and ponds.
The exhibition changes in November each year. Owners David & Geraldine Bayly, curator Shae O'Neill.
