Kintsugi - (金継ぎ) The art of repairing with Gold

Kintsugi - (金継ぎ) The art of repairing with Gold

Kintsugi Workshops

Now you can learn this art and appreciate the imperfections that become it's beauty! I'm now taking workshops for this beautiful process. Come learn the magical art of Kintsugi with Artist Ema Frost in this new Workshop. You can bring along a piece of your own pottery to restore in this beautiful style. (I'll also have a few as back up if you don't have your own piece) (All Levels)

It's called kintsugi (金継ぎ), or kintsukuroi (金繕い), literally golden (“kin”) and repair (“tsugi”). This traditional Japanese art uses a precious metal – liquid gold, liquid silver or lacquer dusted with powdered gold – to bring together the pieces of a broken pottery item and at the same time enhance the breaks.

These pieces below were completed on my recent workshop. Everyone had a great time and did an amazing job. :) :)

I hold regular workshop sessions so please check in time to time for updates
