Furoshiki Magic ✨
The Japanese art of wrapping, carrying & creating with fabric
I recently re-discovered Furoshiki while in Japan, and honestly… I had no idea just how incredibly versatile it could be! I completely fell in love with this beautiful Japanese tradition and couldn’t wait to bring it home and share it with you.
Sunday 13th December - 9:30 -11:30am
Ema Frost is a well respected Artist, who has been teaching Kintsugi & other Japanese art forms for 7+ years and regularly travels to Japan to study and learn new techniques. Ema's illustrations and ceramic works sit in many of our countries best galleries, and whose products and merchandise sell in the most stylish design stores and gallery shops. Her style is enchanting - quirky, feminine and colourful, and clearly influenced by her travels throughout the world, usually off the beaten track.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the art of transforming a simple piece of fabric into all sorts of useful and beautiful things — from gift wrapping and wine holders to handbags, shopping bags, document holders and so much more.
And there’s a little extra creativity too! You’ll create your own custom stamp, which you’ll use to design and personalise your very own piece of Furoshiki fabric.
One of the things I love most about Furoshiki is how practical it is. It’s perfect for travelling — you can pack several beautiful “bags” into your suitcase and they take up almost no space. Use one as a shopping bag, another as a little handbag for an evening out, wrap up your lunch, carry your wine… the possibilities are endless!
It’s also a wonderful, reusable alternative to traditional gift wrapping, making this the perfect skill to learn in the lead-up to Christmas.
Come and learn some Furoshiki magic with me! 🌿
I’ll be holding just ONE Furoshiki workshop before Christmas, at a special introductory price of $85 (normally $125).
Spaces will be limited, so if you’ve been wanting to learn something new, creative and genuinely useful, this is the perfect opportunity.
Come along, have some fun, and discover just how much you can do with a simple piece of fabric!
