The elephant is a symbol for power, dignity, intelligence and peace. There are several lessons we can learn from the elephant and these too are used as its symbol: strength, wisdom, solitude, strong sense of loyalty to the family and intelligence.
The woodblock technique, which I have used to create this piece, is prevalent in Rajasthan. I was not inspired to create pieces using this technique until my travels to Shanghai, where I spent some time, on my way home from India.

In Rajasthan, India you will always see houses and temples adorned with the Elephant which represents ‘Good Luck’, you will also always find the Elephant alongside the Camel which represent ‘Love’ and the Horse which represents ‘Power’.
